App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CoverApp LLC handles information when you use the CoverApp mobile application and related app services.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how CoverApp LLC (“CoverApp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the CoverApp mobile application and related app services.

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the CoverApp mobile application and the services used to operate its mobile functionality.

CoverApp websites, promotional services, or other services may be governed by separate privacy notices or terms where applicable.

2. Information CoverApp Processes

The information processed through CoverApp depends on the features you choose to use.

Account and Profile Information

CoverApp may process information associated with your account, including your email address, account identifier, username, name, and optional profile photo.

The information available to CoverApp may vary depending on whether you authenticate using email and password, Google, Apple, or another supported authentication method.

Photos, Videos, Audio, and Creative Content

CoverApp provides tools that allow you to capture, import, create, edit, combine, store, and export visual and audiovisual content.

Depending on the features you choose, this may include photos, videos, voice recordings, project information, edits, templates, effects, and related media.

Project and Synchronization Information

Project information and associated media may be stored on your device and, where applicable, synchronized with CoverApp-supported cloud services.

Synchronized information may include project data and supported photos, videos, audio, and other assets required to preserve or restore a project and support compatible multi-device functionality.

Subscription and Purchase Information

When you purchase, manage, or restore a subscription, CoverApp may process information relating to the applicable product, transaction, subscription status, Premium entitlement, renewal or expiration status, billing status, and related subscription information.

Technical, Diagnostic, and Analytics Information

CoverApp and services used to operate the application may process technical information such as app-installation or device-related identifiers, application or session information, diagnostic information, and approximate geographic information derived from technical signals such as an IP address.

CoverApp does not require precise GPS location for the analytics practices described in this Privacy Policy.

3. Device Permissions

Depending on the feature you voluntarily choose to use, CoverApp may request permission to access your camera, microphone, photos, videos, or device storage.

These permissions support functions such as capturing, recording, importing, editing, saving, and sharing content.

Granting a device permission does not mean that CoverApp continuously accesses that resource. Access depends on the feature being used, the permissions granted through your device, and the actions you choose to perform.

You may manage applicable device permissions through your operating system settings.

4. How We Use Information

CoverApp may use information processed through the application to:

  • create, authenticate, secure, and manage accounts;
  • maintain user profiles;
  • provide content-creation and editing functionality;
  • create, store, synchronize, recover, and manage projects and associated media;
  • provide Premium functionality;
  • verify and restore eligible subscriptions and purchases;
  • maintain application functionality, reliability, and security;
  • understand general application usage and performance through analytics;
  • prevent unauthorized use and protect CoverApp services;
  • process project, content, and account deletion; and
  • comply with obligations applicable to CoverApp.

CoverApp does not currently use advertising identifiers such as Google's Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA for the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

5. User Choices and Responsibility for Content

CoverApp provides technology for creating and editing content. The user determines what content they choose to capture, record, import, create, edit, store, export, or share through the features available in the application.

Users are responsible for the content they choose to use with CoverApp and for ensuring that they have the rights, permissions, or authorizations necessary for their use of that content.

If content provided or created by a user contains another person's personal information, image, voice, likeness, copyrighted material, or other protected content, the user is responsible for ensuring that their collection, use, editing, export, publication, or sharing of that material is lawful and appropriately authorized.

CoverApp's provision of content-creation or editing tools does not itself grant a user rights to third-party content or authorization to record, use, publish, or distribute another person's information or protected material.

Nothing in this section limits responsibilities that applicable law independently places on CoverApp concerning the operation of its services or its processing of personal information.

6. Storage and Synchronization

CoverApp uses a combination of device storage and cloud-based services.

Some project information and media may initially exist locally on your device. When synchronization applies, project information and associated supported media may be transmitted to cloud infrastructure used to provide CoverApp functionality.

Synchronization may support project persistence, recovery, storage, and compatible multi-device use.

Permission to access your device's media library does not mean that every photo, video, or other file on your device is uploaded to CoverApp. Processing depends on the content and features you choose to use.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions are purchased through the applicable platform's official purchasing system, including the Apple App Store or Google Play where applicable.

CoverApp uses subscription-management services to help verify purchases, determine Premium entitlement and subscription status, restore eligible purchases, and support subscription-related functionality and analytics.

CoverApp does not directly receive or store complete payment-card details from these in-app subscription transactions. Payment processing is performed through the applicable marketplace and its payment systems.

Deleting a CoverApp account does not itself cancel an active subscription managed through Apple or Google. Subscription management or cancellation may need to be completed through the applicable marketplace.

8. Analytics and Technical Information

CoverApp uses services that support analytics and the technical operation of the application.

These services may process app-installation or device-related identifiers, diagnostic information, application or session information, and approximate geographic information derived from technical signals such as IP addresses.

Approximate geographic information used for analytics is distinct from precise GPS location. CoverApp does not currently request device location permission for this analytics purpose.

Technical installation or device-related identifiers used for application functionality or analytics should not be confused with advertising identifiers.

9. Service Providers

CoverApp relies on service providers to operate specific application functions, including authentication, cloud infrastructure, data storage and synchronization, analytics, application security, subscription management, and payment processing.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services supporting CoverApp and its users and may be subject to their own applicable contractual, privacy, security, retention, and legal obligations.

The use of an external service provider does not mean that every category of information processed through CoverApp is provided to every service provider. The information involved depends on the particular service and functionality being provided.

10. Promotional Content and External Links

CoverApp may display promotional content within the application. Certain promotions may provide links to destinations outside CoverApp.

Opening an external destination is a choice made by the user. Once a user leaves CoverApp, an independent website, application, platform, or service may process information according to its own privacy practices and terms.

CoverApp does not control the independent data practices of third-party destinations.

11. Exporting and Sharing Content

CoverApp may allow users to save, export, or share content using functionality available through the application or the user's device.

The user determines whether to export or share content and selects the destination where applicable.

Once content is intentionally transferred outside CoverApp to another person, application, platform, website, or service, subsequent processing by that recipient or external service may be governed by that party's own privacy practices and terms.

Users should consider the information contained in their content before choosing to distribute it outside CoverApp.

12. Data Retention

CoverApp maintains account and application information as necessary to provide the features and services associated with an active account, including applicable profile, project, synchronization, and stored media functionality.

Users may also delete projects and content using available CoverApp controls.

When a CoverApp account is permanently deleted, CoverApp deletes the account-associated user data under its control as described in the Account Deletion section below.

Information independently processed or maintained by external providers, such as Apple or Google in connection with their own marketplace, payment, or subscription systems, is subject to those providers' respective privacy practices and obligations and should not be understood as data retained by CoverApp merely because the user previously maintained a CoverApp account.

13. Project and Content Deletion

CoverApp provides controls for deleting projects and certain content.

When a synchronized project is deleted through CoverApp, the corresponding project data and associated CoverApp-managed project media are designed to be removed from applicable local and remote project storage.

Deleting a project or media copy maintained by CoverApp does not necessarily delete an original photo, video, or other file that remains independently stored in the user's device library or another location outside CoverApp.

Profile photos may be changed or replaced. Account-associated profile information and media under CoverApp's control are addressed through the account-deletion process described below.

14. Account Deletion

Users may permanently delete their CoverApp account through CoverApp's account-deletion functionality.

For security, account deletion may require recent authentication or identity reverification.

When account deletion is successfully completed, CoverApp deletes the account and associated user data under its control, including applicable profile information, projects, synchronization information, and stored account-associated media.

Deleting a CoverApp account does not automatically cancel an active subscription managed through Apple or Google. Any subscription that remains active must be managed through the applicable marketplace.

CoverApp also provides an external account-deletion mechanism through its official website for users who cannot access the application.

15. Users Under 18

CoverApp is currently intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. It is not currently offered as a service directed to children or minors under 18.

CoverApp's current registration system does not independently collect a date of birth or technically verify a user's age.

Users should not create or maintain a CoverApp account if they do not satisfy the applicable age requirement.

If CoverApp becomes aware that an account is being maintained contrary to this age restriction, CoverApp may take appropriate steps concerning the account and associated information, consistent with applicable law and the circumstances involved.

If CoverApp expands its services in the future to users under 18, the applicable age, consent, privacy, account, and store requirements will be evaluated before those services are intentionally offered to that audience.

16. Security

CoverApp uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through the application.

Information transmitted between CoverApp and supported backend services is protected in transit using secure network communications.

Access to certain account-sensitive operations may require authentication or identity reverification.

No electronic system, network transmission, or storage technology can guarantee absolute security. Accordingly, CoverApp cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or other security events will never occur.

17. Privacy Rights and User Choices

Depending on where you reside and the law applicable to CoverApp's processing of your information, you may have privacy rights concerning personal information.

Where applicable, these may include rights concerning access, correction, deletion, or other legally available controls.

CoverApp also provides direct controls for certain information and functionality, including profile information, projects, media, device permissions, subscriptions, and account deletion, depending on the particular information or service involved.

Privacy questions or requests may be submitted to support@coverapp.info.

18. International Processing

CoverApp and service providers supporting the application may process information using infrastructure located in jurisdictions other than the jurisdiction where a user resides.

Any processing or transfer of personal information remains subject to applicable legal requirements.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

CoverApp may update this Privacy Policy when its features, data practices, service providers, supported audiences, or applicable requirements change.

When material changes are made, CoverApp may provide notice as appropriate and will update the effective or revision date associated with this Privacy Policy.

Continued availability of a feature does not mean that its underlying technology or service provider will always remain unchanged. CoverApp may evolve its technical infrastructure while maintaining privacy disclosures appropriate to its then-current data practices.
